Students at this early age of development learn to draw simple shapes using a step-by-step method created by the founder of Artist Center. Examples: Dot to Dot, Spiraling in Control and Overlapping different size shapes .
We communicate about the construction of the objects using long lines, dots and drawing through. Each student learns to sketch using shapes, proportion and arm movement.
The technique is made simple but must be exercised continuously in order to be automatic in the students' thinking. Idea processing starts with the imagination and then sketched quickly to tell the story, using shapes and lines. Cleaning up and reinforcing a better line, staying inside the lines, and learning to sketch without detail is the recipe for a sucessful beginning. Each student will learn how to draw figures, animals, still life and so much more.
Anyone can draw by applying these building blocks to their study, even at 5 years of age.
In-Person classes begin with sketching techniques and then continue with individual projects that the student chooses. Freedom of self expression is emphasised and so much fun to explore in this creative process.
The student will recieve encouragment and positive feed back and will gain confidence in each class. For parents/gardians who prefer to stay with child, they are welcome to relax in our lounge with wifi.
Students at this age of development learn to construct shapes using a step-by-step technique. The student will gain in confidence when the technique is applied. Line quality, staying inside the lines, and learning to sketch without detail is the recipe for success. Shapes are then turned into dimensional shapes understanding the light source and perspective. Stick figures are created using abstractions from the Masters. Each student will learn how to compose a scene using animals, people, nature and learn how to crop and frame the scene. In-Person classes uses mixed media and craft projects for individual projects.
Teens begin with the fundamentals of drawing. Construction of shapes and dimensional shapes are rendered with a light source using values/tones. Perspective, framing, still life, and landscapes are explored in creating a picture or scene. The stick figure is simplified with the use of these shapes. The manikin is then sketched on top of the stick figure and gesture drawing is applied. Through time and study, the student will be challenged with the structure of the head and cross hatching used for tone.. Drawing using the imagination is fun when applying this technique. Compositional studies, color theory and portfolio presentation are included in this 8 week course. For individual projects, each student will explore mixed media (excluding oils) and individual projects are created with the guidance of the professional instructor.
Teen (Online): Same as above no mixed media.

Camps are fun and engaging for all ages. Each student chooses from a large selection of projects: canvas painting, canvas bags, banners, ceramics , watercolors, pastels, colored pencils, markers and various craft projects. Themes come from the student and their own ideas. The instructor guides them and the step by step learning process begins. Each student learns to sketch with our fundamental curriculm listed above. Depending on the age of the child, we take them into a mind set of how the artist "sees" using shapes and patterns of light and dark. Easy, construction and on a pace that helps the student feels at ease. Our lessons are projected on a big screen and easy to follow. The imagination can be taken from the mind and sketched onto paper. Storytelling with pictures come to life using the imagination. When children spend more than 2 hour with us and need a break, students can go in the break room ,relax, take a break, read a book, watch an art video or play an art game.
